Borabay Lake National Nature Park

A natural wonder, Borabay Lake (Borabay Gölü) is in Taşova district. Located 63 km to the city center and 15 km to Taşova, although the lake is known as a 1,050 m high crater lake, it is a natural dam lake created when a small river was blocked with debris from around. The emerald, green lake is surrounded by beech, scots pine, cedar and chestnut trees. Its southern shore is steep and high. Water springs from the lake’s bottom, and river water also feeds the lake. The lake is 80 meters wide and 25 meters deep and located on an east-west valley. There are bungalow-type houses for accommodation, a cafeteria, camping and picnic areas and hiking trails in the forest.

Kabaoğuz Highland

Surrounded by lush greenery and fresh mountain air, Kabaoğuz Highland offers a peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts. Especially popular in the summer months, it provides a cool and relaxing escape from the city. With picnic areas and wide-open views, the plateau has retained its natural character and stands among Amasya’s lesser-known yet rewarding destinations.
